I decided that I had to post something to look at other than that formal notice about our email address that almost no one but you folks use. The WTIT DJs do not email each other with our setup, Or really anything else at all. Here’s the big news. I’m moving far away from here. I can’t say anything more yet because this hinges on other things to happen. But they will. So, six months after my 70th birthday (November 3rd, if you are one of the non-existing folks who signed up for the WTIT Gift Registry. I know. There were long lines and such but was it not worth it?) I will begin a very new adventure. More in a couple of weeks. Oh, and this has nothing to do with a job for that matter, a woman. I will be moving solo.
It is so overdue for me to leave this big house that I live alone in. I live in suburbia. There is nothing for single people, unless you count bars. But of course, during the pandemic, no one was going to bars. But I am definitely in need of single friends. Don’t get me wrong, my WTIT friends are as good as they get. But they are all married. Bouncing Billy & I find something to do once a month. It is usually a sporting event. We went (last outing) a week ago to see UConn play Yale. That used to be a BIG deal. Yales was always so much better, it took UConn 20 years to get a “W”. Times have changed. UConn plays in a higher division. At the moment this matters little since UConn is considered the worst team in FBS football. Their coach bailed after a few games. The search is on for a coach who thinks he can improve UConn football not to be a laughingstock, it would probably get a guy a decent conference job.
Oh yeah, that’s the other thing. To save UConn’s men’s (4X Champs) basketball program, UConn pulled out of the AAC and returned to the Big East. Except the Big East has no football. So no conference hurts big time. UConn BB men now have both a terrific coach and a top 25 pre-season pick. This is coach Hurley’s fourth year at UConn, and he gets great recruits with a vision of how the players will fit together.
I didn’t do Saturday 9 today, and I had planned to. Thought about it too late. It wasn’t a reflection of the post for I have yet to see it. I always read them. I generally read answers each week, but I don’t always comment.
But the big thing on my mind is the big 7-0. I know you youngin’s don’t understand. But I’m grateful I am physically in pretty good shape. I lost 40 pounds after I retired. It wasn’t a diet. A bunch of medical stuff happened, and I lost the weight as a result. But keeping it off is on me. I hope you have a terrific weekend and we will return. Same time. Same blog.

That’s big news! I can’t wait for more details!
Soon. One more person to tell…
