Sunday Stealing: Thanksgiving Questions
1. What did you do for Thanksgiving when you were a kid? Our grandmothers would join us. It was the only day all year that we saw our paternal grandmother. Her favorite gambit was going to the bathroom every year when my mother says, “Dinner’s ready”. She also gave us a whopping $5 on our birthdays. I was the person who had to affirm it was she who died.
2 .What’s your favorite family tradition? We have dumb jokes. Anytime any asks “How did he die?” We all respond “With his leg up high”. I honestly have no idea who wrote it and why. It makes zero sense.
3. What’s your favorite way to give back and help others? Sleeping with guy’s wives. They are happier. I know I am selfless.
4. Name one person who can make you laugh, even months later. Why? For over 50 years it was my BFF Johnnie Walker. We could crack each other up. We were at our funniest when Johnnie was recording with us. He passed in 2018 right after his 67th birthday.
5. What is the funniest thing you remember about a Thanksgiving past? My grandmas loud noises when she jumped into the BR as we sat down. We would all be cracking up. Except Mom. She was not a fan of her mother-in-law. It would be hard to do.
6. Do you have any unusual traditions, rituals or habits around Thanksgiving? It was “How did he die” & my grandma’s noises. We knew the party was on!
7. What time do you eat your Thanksgiving meal? Obvious not in the era of covid, But I was usually invited somewhere. Usually my son Ben’s or my sister Diane. Diane was not a fan of my third wife. It fractured us a bit. But she felt very bad for me when my ex left. However I said that she was right about her. Love is blind and often thick headed. I do hopes she gets whatever she is looking for. She’s probably primed by now for something. Just as long it ain’t me babe.
8. Name one ancestor that you think about on Thanksgiving and tell us why. My parents. Dad passed in 2014, my mom in 2018. I was blessed to have in my life for so long.
9. Is there a family heirloom at the Thanksgiving table? What its story? My grandma’s ashes. We put it in the bathroom as we sit down to eat.
10. What is your favorite part about Thanksgiving Day? The food & football.
11. What is something that was done for you this year that makes you grateful this Thanksgiving? The Queen. She’s been here for a couple of weeks.
12. What foods do you usually have for Thanksgiving? Turkey. I know, a bold choice.
13. How has the celebration of Thanksgiving today changed from when you were little? I am not sure that I understand this question. Oh. My answer is – a lot of folks have died. I turned 69 on Election Day. Oh, what the fuck with this guy in saying “I lost. I am taking my ball and go home”? I was never happier to see this guy to lose. He is a disgrace for calling it “rigged” He said it last time til he won. No rigged election then.
14. If you could share Thanksgiving dinner today with one person in history who would it be? Why? (Note: it can be a relative) Barack Obama.
15. What is one wish you have for the next generation as they begin to establish their own Thanksgiving traditions. My oldest is 46. Youngest is 38. All married with kids. I wish I was with them. They will be here for our Christmas party. Just them and masks are required. We will distance as well. You heard it here last.
I wish you all I happy & safe Thanksgiving. If you are lonely, give us a call. But be nice to the Queen. Peace & love. The WTIT blog will return next week, Same time. Same blog.

My grandfather always went to the bathroom when dinner was called (now my husband does). I love that you move your grandmother’s ashes to the bathroom when dinner is called! My kids are 50, 53 and 54. I’m so glad our son and his wife live here so we can have family with us for Thanksgiving.
I wish my kids were closer…
Go listen to twinsthenewtrend on youtube as they talk to President Obama. It’ll give you joy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jWjk5zA12U
