In this space we used to publish 8 days a week. So here’s a throwback – I am writing an actual post! I miss those days. When I started “Sunday Stealing” it had originally on just on WTIT: The Blog. Then one day as I discussed this with the Queen of Memes. I asked her if I thought syndicating “Sunday Stealing” was a good idea. She knew how hard I had worked to create “Saturday 9”. In both cases she approved.
By week 2 we had 80 players!!! It was a lot of work because I invited about 200 people who answered these questions on Saturday 9 and Thursday Thunks. We also invited players from that dude “Patrick” who did at that time just a Sunday thing his site.We contacted his players for a year and invited them all. Some of the blog owners were pissed about how I was recruiting their players. We thought there was enough players for everyone. And I never admitted inviting them.
I made up two imaginary hosts. I did at that time I had a reputation as a “bad boy” on my blog. I did not want to get in the way of folks enjoying the memes. So, Samantha Winters (who still hosts, but with Gal leading her) & Judd Corizan hosted Sunday Stealing. After awhile I just changed it to me. It was SO popular I wanted (ego wise) to be credited. Judd is still on the logo we offer to put on your site. But it’s Bev that has hosted it for years now.
Speaking of memes, has anyone reached out to Cat.? A recently as last summer she was still playing all those memes & hosted a Monday one herself. She inspired me when I set up both sites. I hope all’s well with her & her family.
Why everything changed was because of social media’s new sites. Why write an entire story on your blog when you republish a cartoon image and get 100 likes. This post most likely will not be read. There will be no “likes”. (Don’t find that a plea for comments or likes. I am writing this just for perspective.) And it’s not like I have folks that could not wait for a new post. My jokes about Jill Hennessy resulted in NBC’s marketing service to contact me to help get a season 5. They got it. What was my contribution? I just ask you if you’d write NBC and get it renew it. I have no idea if we helped, but “Crossing Jordan” was renewed.
So here is today’s story. I went to bed at say 10 last night. But I woke up and it was daytime and there was a lot of sun. So I thought I had taken a nap. So for me it was 5 in the afternoon. I poured myself a small drink and turned on my TV. It took 20 minutes until I realized that it is light at 5AM. I laughed at myself and went back to sleep. When Bev says “Crazy This World” she is SO correct. I hope you and yours are healthy. We will return to this here blog. Same time. Same blog.
