The 45th President of the United States is a disgrace. He is so factually challenged that he believes his own lies. That is the problem with liars. Donald Trump tries to undermine 
the rule of law. He has trashed the fine men and women of the FBI who protect The United States every day.
He has pressured the Department of Justice to go after a list of people including his rival in 2016, Hillary Clinton. When in American history has a president tried to lock up his or her political opponents? Again, this is outrageous. When he begins a sentence “That no one has been tougher on Russia” you have to think, “Really?” How about Ronald Reagan? Dwight Eisenhower? John F. Kennedy? Harry Truman? Has he ever read about American history? Has he ever read anything?
Now he wants to jail James Comey and Andrew McCabe for materials that were not classified at the time they were shared. So now Trump gets them classified and wants the men jailed. And while I personal think that Comey should have waited on his book’s release, he had the FBI read the book and he moved every single word that the FBI didn’t want in the book.
And who am I paraphrasing? A conservative Republican. Donald Trump is neither one. He has raised our spending to levels never seen before. He was a liberal democrat all his life until he started his “birtherism” stunt. That was when we first discovered his racism. And Trump surely doubled down in Charlotte when he stated that the KKK have good people in the clan.
I have witnessed many presidents in my life. I was born when it was Truman. While of course I do not remember him as president, we all studied every aspect of the Second World War. I remember the “I like Ike” buttons and I still have one. My mom, who recently passed, took us to a parade in downtown Hartford to wave at JFK as he campaigned to be our first Irish-Catholic president.
I saw LBJ grow as a leader. He helped create the climate where all our major civil right legislation was passed. I remember a flawed man in Richard Nixon. He could have destroyed the tapes that toppled his presidency. But even he believed in the rule of law. Both Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter were good men who were a bit over their depth. We all marveled at the integrity and decency that was Ronald Reagan. George H. W. Bush was the most qualified man that ever served. Bill Clinton was flawed as well, but after Reagan he was the next best president that I’ve known. I was not a fan of George W. Bush, but I will always be grateful for how he brought us together as he surveyed Ground Zero after 9-11. I was proud to vote for the first president of African American decent. And while he too made many mistakes, he was an incredibly bright and thoughtful man.
I promised myself that I would never be political on Facebook or on this blog again. While I am extremely progressive, most of my friends are conservative. Fighting with friends bites the big one.
Donald Trump is destroying our democracy. He is trying to dismantle our free press. He has no empathy. Every one of his texts diminishes the office bit by bit. My only hope now is that his presidency will end as soon as possible. I love my country. Donald Trump is a dumpster fire. He cares of no one but Donald Trump. Join me in having a good thought that he will be gone and normalcy will return.
You need not agree with me, but I write with a heart of love of country and family. But I really thank you for reading this. Let’s truly hope we can all sing “Happy Days Are Here Again” to whoever follows this disaster.

I agree 110%, Bud. There isn’t a measurement where he comes up as “decent.” I was just reading about his wife’s success at her first state dinner, which she handled beautifully and worked very hard at. It got little press coverage because Mr. “Fake News!” would not allow the press to attend. No press at a state dinner. Stunning. So her success is overshadowed by the pretend chip on his shoulder. (Oh yeah, and she gets to explain Stormy Daniels to her pre-teen son.) So I think we can agree he’s not Husband of the Year material.
Then there’s his appalling lack of knowledge about/appreciation for the history of the country he now leads. He didn’t go to Barbara Bush’s funeral because no President has attended a First Lady’s funeral since JFK went to Eleanor Roosevelt’s. Um … Bill Clinton SPOKE at Jackie’s graveside service in Arlington. He’s said Americans have never had a President who didn’t have a political background. What about Eisenhower? You know, the one who was President when Trump was a kid. You know, the one who helped SAVE THE WORLD. This week he referred to Republicans as the original champions of civil rights, which I suppose is accurate. But he said, “If you go back to the Civil War, it was Republicans who really did the thing.” THE THING? He dismissed the Emancipation Proclamation as “the thing.” And, of course, there’s Frederick Douglass, who Trump says is “doing amazing things” and “getting recognized more and more,” even though he died in the 19th century.
He complains about Fake News, but he still hasn’t told us what his investigators found in Hawaii about Barack Obama’s birth. And what about Ted Cruz’ dad and Lee Harvey Oswald?
I could go on, but my head hurts.
I believe the center will hold. We’ve seen this movie, Bud. We know what’s going to happen. Congress is going to flip in November and come January, when Mueller presents his report, it’ll be impeachment time. We may be shocked by Trump, but our savvy forefathers saw him coming. Just hang on!
I got SO much shit on Facebook when I posted it. And while I have over 4100 “friends” the ones who took me to task were two of my original DJs at WTIT. Now one has COPD level 4, and was a navy guy (although only 5 months and was never out of the US.The other is now a rich in the 1%. I finally stopped. No saving those who won’t listen…
Agree with every word. I feel disgraced and shamed every time I see that man on TV. I live in a rural red area and cannot fathom how so many people still agree with him. It makes me ashamed of my community and my nation that this man is our “leader.”

Seeing this late but I could not agree with you more. I don’t know whether to turn off the news because I can’stand another minute, or keep it on so I can continue to watch our country disappear.
