Are you scared of bats? It depends what team The Yankees are playing. I hate the Red Sox bats, for example.
When you were a kid, did you go out on Mischief Night? (Mischief Night is an informal holiday on which children and teens engage in pranks and minor vandalism. While its name and date vary from place to place, it is most commonly held near the end of October to coincide with the night before Halloween) If you have to explain the fucking holiday, then NOBODY did it. Next!
What is your favorite trick-or-treat candy? I’m really not a “candy” guy. I like it, but years ago I decided to make some choices on where I’d take my calories from, candy or Smirnoff. Guess which won?
Have you ever seen a ghost? No. But when I first moved in here I heard weird voices a lot. Then I realized that my neighbor’s house across the street amplified voices. Wicked echo. But alas, no fucking ghosts.
The most memorable costume you ever wore? My Klingon outfit won lots of contests. I improved it this year, but I did not wear it.
Do you dress up on Halloween? Only with others. Tonight (Saturday) I’m alone.
Any cooking or baking you do for Halloween? Ha!
Have you ever been to The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland or Disneyworld? No.
Any element of the season you don’t like? Freezing fucking cold. Do not even tell me that you smell snow…
What is your favorite scary movie? “First Man on the Moon”. I was 7. My cousin Carol was 9. We saw it together and squeezed each others hands when we were scared.

Bud’s ex-wives at their annual meeting. After they meet yearly to trash him, they then have an orgy and send him the film. His latest ex joins them by June.
Do you cook the pumpkin seeds from your carved jack-o-lanterns? Since I have none, no. But a couple of my ex-wives did it and they tasted great.
Are you intrigued with vampires? No. I thought those films were dumb with the guy and the cheating girlfriend.
What is your favorite written work of horror fiction? Hitchcock. No writing but who cares? He was a master of scary & suspense.
What is your favorite work of science fiction/fantasy? Trek. Duh.
Who is your favorite monster? King Kong. I have but one memory of my paternal granddad and we watched “King Kong” together. I thought he was very cool. I was nearly 6 years old when he died. But at least I have a memory. My sister was born after he died and my brother was 2.
What is your favorite Horror movie? “The Birds”.
What horror movie gives you the most chills? How is this a fucking different question?
What character from any horror film would you most like to play? I’d love to be the rabbit in ”Fatal Attraction”. I mean it’s not a large part, but hell, what else do you remember from that fucking film?
I’ve not been online a lot. Two weeks ago my computer crashed. I brought it to where I had always experienced excellent customer service, Staples. What I know now, two weeks later, is that Staples is not very good, in fact they suck moose. It was this one guy I bought everything from over the last decade. He quit six months ago.
They said my computer was toast but they could save the files. It is over two weeks later and most of what they promised turned out so bad, that after they moved my expensive sound card, they couldn’t hook it up to my recording program. Now this might be perceive as my problem, except I stated that I needed to buy a computer “that could handle not only my old but expensive sound card but also to connect it to the Sony Audio Studio.” That new computer crashed within two days.
I brought it back. They told me they could do it all again on another computer. I got the call from the guy (now get this – he was the “Tech Manager” who had essentially spent his career at – wait for it – Radio Shack) who sold me the computer on Wednesday morning (now 1 week and a half later) that it would be ready at 7 PM. At 6 I got a call from a tech. He said that now the new “newer” computer was running so slow that it was concluded that maybe that it too could not handle the sound card. He asked why they hadn’t just fixed the old one. I replied that I was told that if they did that they’d lose all my data. I told them it was all backed up. He said that he didn’t trust back up data. I must be an moron because I still believed him.
The tech explains to me that the Tech Manager was a great guy and great salesman, but essential new noting about nothing about tech. He decided that if my old computer had not been recycled yet that they’d fix the old one. I know that I should have caught on to this shell game, but I didn’t. Friday night I got the call that the old one was ready to be picked up. I got there Saturday and the Sony program couldn’t open because they had lost the sheet with its access code. They told me to bring it back tomorrow and they’d call Sony. They processed the refund for the new computer.
When I got home I discovered that while my C drive was there, the D drive was gone. I called the store and asked the assistant store manage where it was. He replied “I’m sorry, I forgot to put it in.” He supposed to do that tomorrow as well. Tomorrow I will share this story with the stores GM and if I do not get satisfaction, I will email this story that you’re reading to their headquarters. I’m also posting it on Facebook and Twitter at 5PM.
I’ll let you know how it all turns out next weekend, here at the Tape Radio blog. Join us then. Same time, same blog.
I’m pretty sure that the junior high schooler working on your computer was out on ‘mischief night’ which is why your d drive was missing.
Ahhh…Bach.
Computer issues are so nerve wracking. Windows 10 has been my downfall; I freaking hate it. I hate it so much if I had the money I would buy a Mac.
I was given a choice of 7 8 or 10. I took 7.
Great answers, but holy cats I’m glad I haven’t sent anyone to Staples for service! Sorry you’re having all kinds of trouble. May it be resolved soon, for your sake!!
It’s been a rough year…
I don’t think there is anything more annoying and aggravating than computer meltdowns even when you have help from someone that actually knows what they’re doing. I would be camped out in Staples by now getting a little “cranky” and urging them to get their crap together and fix the problem or find someone who can. I hope you were pleasantly surprised today, but I won’t be surprised if you weren’t.
Neither will I… 🙂
That is just too my computer drama. They need to get their shit together.
