1. What is your all-time favorite movie costume? Nothing comes to mind. I loved the little bugger in the first
Alien film, however.
2. What classic film would you nominate for a remake? None of them. That’s why they are classics.
3. Name your favorite femme fatale. Joan Crawford in anything. What a bitch.
4. Name the best movie title. If This Is Tuesday, This Must Be Belgium is a good one.
5. Describe the worst performance by a child actor that you’ve ever seen. Jimmy Walker was not so die-no-mite.
6. Who gets your vote for most tragic movie monster? King Kong, the original. He truly fell in love Faye with what was the equivalent (size wise) of a prairie dog to him.
7. What is the one Western that you would recommend to anybody? City Slickers or Blazing Saddles. On the serious side almost any with Clint Eastwood or John Wayne are good.
8. Who is your ideal movie-viewing partner? My lady Kathy. We watched the final Indiana Jones film last night.
9. Has a film ever made you want to change your life? If so, what was the film? No, but it has effected it. After seeing the first Matrix movie, it took days to shake off the feeling that it was real. Now that’s a movie.
10. Think of one performer that you truly love. Now think of one scene/movie/performance of theirs that is too uncomfortable for you to watch. A pre-
M*A*S*H Alan Alda played a despicable character with Blythe Danner. Hischaracter was horribly written, Alan’s acting

just made it worse. It was called
To Kill a Clown from 1972. It was Bythe’s first lead role. Later, during
M*A*S*H episode, she played Hawkeye’s “the one who got away”.
11. On the flip side, think of one really good scene/performance/movie from a performer that you truly loathe. Now that I loath Mel Gibson, who was my favorite actor BEFORE, any of his will do.
12. What is your favorite romantic comedy? Notting Hill or When Harry Meets Sally. It’s a tie. Sorry.
13. What is your favorite drama? We saw Four Brothers the other night. That blew me away. I can’t waste the day thinking about this question. So we went with “most recent”.

He lunged pretending she’s a he. |
14. Worst film you’ve seen? Parrish with Troy Donahue. It was shot right near where I live in our Connecticut tobacco fields. It’s a favorite film of Kathy’s. I have no idea why. When it came to kissing a girl, which he did with every one of them, he lunged. Kathy asked, “Why do you think he keeps doing that?” My reaction was that he was gay and trying to fake the attraction. I looked it up to see if I was right. The best answer is that he was bi. His agent (Henry Willson) ran all male orgies and also had Rock Hudson as a client. Troy once said that he “wound up in a pile at Harry Willson’s” once. But other than how it effected this film, I could not care less.
15. How do you feel about the majority of romantic films being labeled “chick flicks”? I don’t really give a rat’s ass. But I usually like them.
16. Favorite on-screen couple? Harry and Sally. What a well crafted and acted film. We lost Nora Efron, who wrote it, recently. Brilliant writer, that was true.
17. Favorite off-screen couple? Gotta go with Dick and Liz. What a soap opera! Getting married twice to each other was perfect. (I say that as I prepare for my 3rd walk down the proverbial aisle. Although I never married the same woman twice. Kathy insisted on an October wedding because of her love off all things autumn. Kathy and I work on so many levels.)
18. Best kiss in a movie? The goodbye kiss in
Casablanca. Did you know that they filmed two endings? They were afraid the film would be reject by the public if there wasn’t a happy ending. Everyone involved after seeing both endings, agreed the one used was perfect.
19. Favorite scene? In The Sure Thing with Daphne Zuniga and John Cusack was a fantastic romantic comedy. Stuck in the middle of nowhere, no money, no transportation, Daphne’s character realizes that she has a credit card. Then she states, as they stand in the pouring rain, that her dad said to use it only in an emergency. Cusack dead pans, “Good. Maybe one will come up.”

Jill and I before she married. |
20. Who are 2 film characters you wished had gotten together, but never did? Jill Hennessy and me. (Hey, I did a family video once…)
21. Two actors you think would have great chemistry, but have never done a film together? Richard Gere and Meg Ryan. For no other reason that to finish this fucking meme. No wonder I got so many complaints about it.
22. Favorite song in a film (doesn’t have to be from a musical)? All You Need is Love from Yellow Submarine.
23. Best score from a film? A Hard Day’s Night or Let It Be. Another tie. Sue me.
24. Best film quote? “I’ll have what she’s having.” Rob Reiner’s mother’s cameo in Harry & Sally.
25. A film you’d recommend that is a “Must See” for us to watch? The Cheap Detective. It’s a Neil Simon film that got lost in the shuffle because he also cast Peter Falk as Humphrey Bogart in Murder By Death. So, no one went to see The Cheap Detective. While both are good films, The Cheap Detective (a spoof on both Casablanca and The Maltese Falcon. Have a good weekend. I’ll find better questions next time. Maybe. You get what you pay for.
Enjoy your weekend.
