1) Remember waking up when you were a kid to the “good” news that there was a snow day? How did you fill your newfound (sic) free time? When I was younger, I played strip poker with The Nasty Nancys. They were my age and the four of them had this club with a secret handshake and all that crap. The weirder part was that none of these brain trusts were actually were named Nancy. But they all called each other Nancy. I think they formed the club because they all were massively developed by 12 years-old. And since it was a strip poker snow day, they were always a good choice. Hey, I just report the news, I don’t make it up. At least, not all of the time. We respond to the question, you decide.
2) Name a book you found helpful. You can define “helpful” any way you want. The dictionary. Not only can you find out the meaning of words, but also it contains all the words of every other book that has been written.
3) How many guns have you fired? Wow, this is weird. WTIT DJ and BFF Johnnie Walker is staying with me as I recoup from surgery. We discussed shooting a gun for the first time a couple of days ago. He had done some hunting in his twenties and was proud that he ate what he killed. I’ve only shot a gun once. I was in high school and all the guys wanted to be my friend. It was an all boys school and I had spent both my freshman and sophomore years in public school. The guys wanted all to join WTIT because I knew so many girls and at our parties a zillion always showed up. Oh right, the gun. A guy trying to join WTIT (and did briefly as Nick Bocker) thought teaching me to shoot would help his chances. So we go to the middle of nowhere and he taught me to shoot a shotgun loaded with bird shot. I fired it once. Being a peacenik, I did not enjoy it at all even though I just shot a target. I never touched a gun again.
I guess it suggests it was the Fourth yesterday. It’s weird not to be at work. Or having a holiday off for that matter. In Massachusetts the liquor stores only close three days a year. So for my fellow sales guys, Monday was just another day. For us it meant Belvedere Bloody Mary vodka and tomato juice. We watched a two part NCIS and last night finished the bonus disc for the best concert ever. HBO recorded the 25th Anniversary Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame concert. I lost my copy when my last Tivo died. My son Ben gave me the DVD of it for Father’s Day. It includes ten hours of additional bonus footage. Who played?
U2, Bruce & E Street, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Simon & Garfunkel, Metallica and Crosby, Stills and Nash.
Also preforming:
Mick Jagger, Billy Joel, Sting, Black Eyed Peas, Jackson Brown, Ray Davies (Kinks), Dion, John Fogerty, Billy Gibbons, Buddy Guy, Little Anthony & the Imperials,B.B. King, John Legend, Annie Lennox, Jerry Lee Lewis, Darleen Love, Sam Moore, Tom Morello, Ozzy, Bonnie Raitt, Lou Reed, Smokey Robinson, Patti Smith and James Taylor.
Buy it or rent it. It takes days to watch, but every minute is worth it. These was at least my third time seeing it, but the first with all the extra stuff. There are SO many great moments like watching The Boss and Billy Joel sing each others songs was amazing. I’m not much of a fan of seeing a video of a concert that I didn’t attend, but trust me, this is a must see. Peace.
give you spiritual awareness.
