A little over a year ago I received an email on facebook. A woman who remembered me from my days as a Disco DJ at one of Connecticut’s hottest nightclubs, The Dialtone Disco Dome. I had a three year run there and it was the best DJ gig I ever had. This woman wrote me:
|Kathy back in the day.|
“I was a regular at The Dialtone back in the 1970s where you were the featured DJ…I still think of you when I play Melancholy Man by the Moody Blues. Thank you for the happiest times of my life. No we never dated, but I was a huge fan of yours.”
A year ago today we met for a drink at Max’s Tavern in Springfield, Mass. We had our first date a couple of nights later when we returned to Max’s and I bought her dinner. She was “My Lady of the Mountains” because she lived in the Berkshires. We became constant companions. Since then, we moved in together last June. She is now my best friend, my partner and the woman I love so dearly. Happy anniversary, hon. What a wonderful time it’s been!
